After breakfast leave for Hortain
plains to do the safari
tourHORTON PLAINSLocated in the highest plateau of Sri Lanka at an elevation of 7,000 feet above sea level. Usually
the Plains are visible before 10 a.m., as otherwise the mist covers the view. The
highlight of the Plains is the
terrific escarpment which drops
vertically for about 1,000 feet. On a
very clear day, one could view the
east horizon too. Rare species of fauna and flora are found here. This Plain
was once the hunting ground for the British Governor Mr. Farr. Today the home
of Mr. Farr known as "Farr Inn" is still can be seen.
Nuwara Eliya - The ‘Little
England’ of Sri Lanka, is set against beautiful backdrops of Mountains,
Valleys, Waterfalls and Tea Plantations. It is supposed
to be one of the coldest places on the island,
where the air is pure, cool and distilled up through
1,884 meters; windswept peaks
lie shrouded in mist, while gaily clad tea puckers wind their way among tea
bushes listening to the wild music of the water falls. The is city complete
with a Lake, Golf course and Race course ideal for hikes, golf, horse riding
and boating
