This is more than a trip—it’s More Than Mountains.
Our expedition begins in Kathmandu, a city where ancient spirituality permeates the air. After a comprehensive briefing and an introduction to our trusty Royal Enfield motorcycles, we'll leave the valley's chaos behind, winding our way through Nepal's mid-hills. Our first major destination is Lower Mustang, a region that offers a tantalizing glimpse into the vastness of the Himalayas.
The ride from Kathmandu to Lower Mustang is a progressive ascent. We'll ride through charming towns like Bandipur, a natural viewpoint offering a spectacular panorama of the entire Annapurna range, and Pokhara, a serene lakeside paradise. The road gradually becomes more challenging as we enter the Kali Gandaki gorge, the deepest in the world. As we ascend, the lush greenery gives way to a barren, arid landscape, a dramatic change in topography that signals our arrival in the high desert.
The ultimate destination in this leg is Muktinath, a sacred pilgrimage site for both Hindus and Buddhists, located at the foot of the Thorong La pass. The ride to Muktinath is as spiritual as the destination itself, with rugged trails, cascading waterfalls, and breathtaking views of towering peaks like Mt. Dhaulagiri and Nilgiri. The wind-swept terrain of the Kali Gandaki valley will test your riding skills, but every bump in the road is a reminder that you're in a place of raw, unadulterated beauty. After a day of exploring the ancient temples and natural springs, we’ll descend, retracing our path to Pokhara for a well-deserved rest.
The second part of our journey takes us from the comfort of Pokhara back into the rugged heart of Nepal and across the border into Tibet, a land that has captivated explorers for centuries. The ride from Pokhara to the Nepal-Tibet border is a challenging one, with sections of dirt and switchbacks, but it is rich in natural beauty and cultural encounters. As we ride along the Trishuli River and through villages like Nuwakot and Timure, we’ll be preparing for the monumental leap into the highest land on Earth.
After completing immigration formalities at the Kyirong border, we’ll leave Nepal and enter the vast and awe-inspiring Tibetan Autonomous Region of China. The landscape changes instantly and dramatically. The lush valleys of Nepal are replaced by an immense, open plateau. We'll ride on newly paved roads that snake through the Tibetan wilderness, with the wind in our faces and the sun on our backs. The sheer scale of the landscape is overwhelming—endless stretches of open plains, serene lakes like Paikut Tso, and nomadic communities. We’ll ascend to dizzying heights, crossing passes like Guntung La (5200m), where prayer flags flutter in the thin air, and the horizon is a jagged line of snow-capped peaks.
The highlight of this entire expedition is our ride to Rongbuk and the majestic North Face of Mount Everest. After a challenging ride through the Chomolungma National Park, we'll arrive at Rongbuk, where the world's highest monastery stands guard over the "Mother of the Earth" herself. The view of Everest from this vantage point is unparalleled, a humbling and awe-inspiring sight that makes every hardship of the journey fade away. We'll spend the evening taking in the breathtaking sunset over Everest and the surrounding peaks, a moment that will stay with you forever.
The journey back is a thrilling descent, a fast-paced ride through the high Tibetan plateau with a final, emotional return to Kathmandu. This expedition is more than just a ride; it’s an exploration of human and geographical extremes. It’s an opportunity to connect with ancient cultures, push your physical and mental limits, and witness some of the most spectacular landscapes on the planet.
