The Best of Nepal Ride

Welcome to Nepal! Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA), a Pinkstone Travel representative will greet you and transfer you to your hotel. After you’ve had a chance to settle in, a short briefing will be held in the hotel lobby to introduce you to the tour and your fellow riders. This evening, we’ll head out for a welcome dinner at a traditional Nepali restaurant, giving you your first taste of the country's renowned hospitality and authentic cuisine.

Today is all about immersing ourselves in the rich history and vibrant culture of Kathmandu. We’ll spend the day visiting two of the country's most significant UNESCO World Heritage sites. In the morning, we'll visit the iconic Swayambhunath Stupa, also known as the "Monkey Temple." Perched on a hilltop, this ancient stupa offers a serene atmosphere and a panoramic view of the Kathmandu Valley. Next, we'll head to Kathmandu Durbar Square, a bustling hub of ancient temples, palaces, and courtyards that showcases the city's royal history. After a traditional lunch, we'll explore Patan Durbar Square, also known as the "City of Fine Arts." The square is home to a magnificent collection of palaces, temples, and shrines, all noted for their exquisite carvings. We'll also visit the famous Golden Temple (Hiranya Verna Mahavihar) before returning to the hotel.

Today, the engines roar to life! We’ll start our ride by navigating out of Kathmandu, taking a scenic route through the villages of Sitapaila and Ramkot, and over the Bhimdhunga Pass. This route offers a peaceful, traffic-free start to our journey before we connect with the main Prithvi Highway. The ride will take us through the picturesque Trishuli River valley, a winding and enjoyable stretch of road. After reaching Dumre, we’ll begin the final 8km climb to Bandipur. This ancient Newari town is a cultural gem, with a pedestrian-only zone that preserves its traditional architecture and offers stunning panoramic views.

Route: Kathmandu → Ramkot → Bhimdhunga → Dharke → Galchhi → Mugling → Dumre → Bandipur

Road Conditions: Mixed—winding uphill roads to Bhimdhunga, then smooth blacktopped highway.

Overnight: The Hotel Old Inn, Bandipur

After breakfast, we’ll descend the winding road from Bandipur and continue west on the Prithvi Highway. We'll ride through lush valleys, passing through Damauli and Pokhara, before heading west on the Pokhara–Baglung Highway. The road becomes more adventurous as we climb towards our destination: The Cliff at Kushma. This exhilarating destination is set above the dramatic Kali Gandaki Gorge, offering spectacular views and a range of adrenaline-pumping activities, including Nepal's highest bungee jump. We’ll stay in tented accommodations, a truly unique experience.

Route: Bandipur → Dumre → Pokhara → Hemja → Nayapul → Kusma (The Cliff)

Road Conditions: Mostly blacktopped and in good condition; some winding and narrow sections after Pokhara.

Overnight: Tented Accommodation @ The Cliff

Today, we'll take a more intimate route, leaving the highway behind for scenic rural roads. We'll ride south from The Cliff towards Wami Taksar, navigating beautiful ridgelines and passing through traditional hill communities. The road is a mix of blacktop and gravel, but the surrounding views of terraced farmlands and peaceful villages make it a worthwhile journey. We'll descend to the sacred town of Ridi, located on the banks of the Kaligandaki River, before beginning our final, steep climb to Tansen. This ancient hill town, with its charming cobbled streets and unique Newari architecture, offers a tranquil atmosphere and a glimpse into a slower pace of life.

Route: The Cliff (Kushma) → Wami Taksar → Ridi → Tansen

Road Conditions: Mixed—blacktopped and gravel sections with scenic rural roads.

Overnight: Hotel White Lake, Tansen

We'll start our day with a gradual descent from Tansen, riding through the scenic Ridi Khola and Kaligandaki corridor. After crossing the Ridi Bridge, we'll continue through peaceful hill sections towards Waling, where we will join the Siddhartha Highway. From here, the ride to Pokhara is a smooth, pleasant journey with wide views of the Seti River. Pokhara, a vacationer’s paradise, is set against the stunning backdrop of the Annapurna Mountain Range, with the iconic Machapucchre (Fishtail Mountain) looming over the serene Phewa Lake. The afternoon is yours to relax, explore the lakeside bazaar, or indulge in adventure activities like paragliding or zip-lining.

Route: Tansen → Ridi → Waling → Syangja → Pokhara

Road Conditions: Mostly blacktopped, with winding hill roads; moderate traffic.

Overnight: Lake View Resort, Pokhara

Today, we journey to the very cradle of modern Nepal. We’ll start by riding east from Pokhara, taking a short detour to the peaceful Begnas Lake. From there, we’ll follow a quiet route through serene rural areas to Ligligkot, a historically significant hilltop that offers panoramic views of the Annapurna and Manaslu ranges. From Ligligkot, we’ll begin our steady climb towards Gorkha Bazaar. The town is a living monument to the nation's founder, King Prithvi Narayan Shah, and is a must-visit for anyone interested in Nepal's rich history.

We'll begin our day by descending from Gorkha Bazaar to the main road, rejoining the Prithvi Highway near Abukhaireni. We'll ride southeast to Mugling, a major junction, and then turn north onto the Trishuli Highway. This scenic stretch follows the Trishuli River through lush valleys and terraced fields. We’ll continue northeast to Bidur, the district headquarters, and then begin the final, winding climb to the historic hill town of Nuwakot. The town has a peaceful, timeless charm, and its old palace complex offers breathtaking views of the valley and Himalayan foothills.

Route: Gorkha → Abukhaireni → Mugling → Galchhi → Bidur → Nuwakot

Road Conditions: Mostly paved highways; some narrow and winding sections near Nuwakot.

Overnight: The Nuwakot Famous Farm, Nuwakot

Our final day of riding is a short and scenic journey back to Kathmandu. We’ll take a quiet, beautiful alternative route, riding southeast through the villages of Samundratar and Kaule. This road winds through lush hillsides, forests, and farming villages, offering occasional panoramic views. We'll descend to the northern edge of the Kathmandu Valley, passing through Tokha before entering the city. Upon arrival, we’ll check into the hotel and enjoy a well-deserved rest. The evening is free for you to relax or do some last-minute shopping.

Route: Nuwakot → Samundratar → Kaule → Jhor → Tokha → Kathmandu

Road Conditions: Mix of blacktopped and narrow rural roads; winding and steep in sections.

Overnight: Kathmandu Guest House or similar

Today, we'll visit two more of Kathmandu’s most revered sites. In the morning, we'll head to the sacred Pashupatinath Temple, the most important Hindu temple in Nepal, located on the banks of the Bagmati River. Next, we'll visit the colossal Boudhanath Stupa, one of the oldest Buddhist monuments in Nepal and a central hub for the country’s Tibetan Buddhist community. The rest of the day is yours to enjoy, before we gather for a final, farewell dinner to celebrate our unforgettable journey and the friendships forged on the road.

After breakfast, you'll have some free time for any last-minute souvenir shopping. A representative will then transfer you to Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) for your onward flight home. You’ll leave Nepal not just with photos and memories, but with the spirit of the Himalayas in your heart.
